Vigo is situated in the southernmost estuary of the Rías Baixas. This estuary is protected by the Cíes islands, an archipelago of rare beauty, which belongs to the Natural Park of the Atlantic Islands. Its natural environment provides, along with a remarkable economic wealth, some favourable climatic conditions, with an annual average temperature of about 15º C.
