21.05.09 The fifth issue of Vigo’s International Jazz Festival, Imaxina Sons, is approaching
On Tuesday, may 5th the festival −which will take place from June 25th to July 5th 2009 in different venues− was presented at the Vigo City Council building. Among the participants in the press conference were the Councillor of Culture, Mr Xesús López, Program Director of Social Affairs of CaixaNova, Ms María Pereira, and Artistic Director of the festival, Mr Baldo Martínez.
One point which was patently obvious in the event was the magnificent experience and the enormous success of the previous issues of Imaxina Sons, along with the need to strengthen and consolidate the festival. With the support of the local authorities of Vigo, the festival originally intended to meet the expectations of jazz followers, to achieve the direct involvement of the local audience, and to become a showcase for local avant-garde jazz trends while capturing the attention of the specialized jazz journals.
