11.06.10 Jazz Schools will open the Imaxina Sons programme playing on the streets

Imagine on the Streets (Imaxina na Rúa) kicks off on 12th June with the A Coruña Local School of Music, and will continue with the Pontevedra A Tempo Orchestra on 19th June.

The presence of a number of young Galician jazzmen and women on the streets of Vigo will be the prelude to this Sixth Imaxina Sons Festival.

On Saturday, 12th June the students of the A Coruña Local School of Music will perform in different streets and squares under the label Imagine on the Streets, i.e. the programme of activities which opens the Sixth Imaxina Sons Jazz Festival. due 23rd June-4th July. They will give four shows under the conduction of José Acuña Fernández, featuring twelve original songs and a few jazz standards. The area of Modern Music and Jazz of this School and the Jazz Seminar they organize on a yearly basis are becoming increasingly popular among young jazz lovers. These musicians will be charged with the duty of warming up the local atmosphere in the weeks immediately prior to the opening of the festival.

The following Saturday (19th June) the A Tempo Orchestra from Pontevedra will follow suit and give their performances in different public spaces of Vigo, also as part of Imagine on the Street.

• 11:30h. Peatonal do Calvario (O Calvario pedestrian area, next to the market).
• 13:30h. Praza da Independencia & Travesas (Independencia Square and surrounding area).
• 17:30h. Príncipe (pedestrian road outside of MARCO, Museum of Contemporary Art)
• 19:30h. Montero Ríos (outdoor drinking and eating area)

• 13:30h. Centro Comercial Camelias (Camelias Shopping Centre)
