The programme of concerts for the Sixth Imaxina Sons Festival —launched last April— is now enriched with a number of activities which complete the comprehensive programme of activities of this 2010 Festival, from 23rd June to 4th July.
Bands of street-wandering musicians, jazz in the night, round table discussions, master classes and —following a demand from the public— a show for children, are all part of this extensive programme of activities organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the municipality of Vigo.
The programme of concerts for the Sixth Imaxina Sons Festival —launched last April— is now enriched with a number of activities which complete the comprehensive programme of activities of this 2010 Festival, from 23rd June to 4th July. Bands of street-wandering musicians, jazz in the night, round table discussions, master classes and —following a demand from the public— a show for children, are all part of this extensive programme of activities organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the municipality of Vigo. The main aims of the festival include reaching out to a new audience, bringing top quality artists to Vigo and creating an atmosphere of festivity and celebration in the city during the twelve days of the festival.
Jazz music will jump-start on the streets of Vigo on Saturdays, 12th and 19th June in the framework of the Imagine on the Streets (Imaxina na Rúa) activities with the participation of the A Coruña Local School of Music and the A Tempo Orchestra from Pontevedra. The festival itself will have its official opening on Wednesday, 23rd June featuring Martial Solal, and will close on Sunday, 4th July with the concert of the Dave Douglas Quintet.
