Introduction
For Imaxina Sons jazz is not a motionless style with a closed technique. Quite on the contrary, it is a dynamic and particular way of approaching music, where the past is not seen as a fixed code which has to be followed with the highest level possible of virtuosity, but rather as a legacy which has to be taken into account in order to create new potentialities for its sounds. Imaxina Sons −fruit of the initiative of Vigo’s local authorities− has put the spotlight precisely on those novel potentialities, and, as a result, numerous top figures of jazz with their unique jazz proposals have visited us since the Festival was initially launched in 2005.
